I am to state that I myself worming my birds twice in a year prior to flying
season (Winter) i.e. in the month of October-November and in summer, in the
month of April-May. I use either IVOMECTIN (LIQUID) OR ALBENDAZOLE @ 0.3 ML
WITH SAME AMOUNT OF WATER DIRECTLY IN TO THE MOUTH BY INSULIN SYRINGE (1
ML.) FOR YOUNG BIRDS AND 0.5 ML. FOR OLD BIRDS. After that, I give them
"KALMEGH" (A HERBAL LIQUID MADE FROM THE GREEN LEAVES OF A PLANT) liquid 3
drops with equal amount of water thrice in a week in empty stomach in the
morning for prevention. I also use a product named AMINO-VIT, which is a
tonic of necessary Amino acids and some Vitamins. Following this protocol
every year, my birds are very much healthy and their performances are quite
satisfactory. I also watched that after de-worming, their performance
enhances a lot.

Now regarding symptoms of worm, I must say that the effected bird will show
very much urging in taking foods and water as well. But its body weight will
gradually fall down and flying performance will also be reduced.

After worming, the birds become energy less and weak for few days (almost
3-4 days). But they recover soon if properly medicated and maintained
afterwards. I never tend to fly my birds for a week after worming.
Whenever, we use any anti-biotics or anti-helmenthics, the intestinal flora
disturbed owing to destruction of friendly bacteria and protozoa. But if you
can provide them pro-biotics and natural health supplements, they will
recover soon from the stress and fly more than before. I therefore, give
them a powder of all natural salts and Lacto-bacillious spores for three
days after the medicinal coarse is finished which helps them to provide the
friendly bacterias.I also provide them a mixture of grits along with the
following natural substances, which helps them to digest their food properly
and as well as clear their bowels regularly. Always worm them at night after
full feeding and only one dose. The substances are :

Lime stone (Powdered)
Old bricks (Turning into very small pieces)
Red Surkhi mixed with calcium carbonate (available in the rubbish of old
buildings materials)
Burnt soil of Boiler or Kitchen stove made by soil.
Activated Charcoal of NEEM TREE. (Powdered)
Oyester shell (Powdered)
Ocean Fumes (available in sea shore, a rich natural source of Iodine, sodium
chloride and calcium ).
Very small pieces of Black granites and sand stones. Ajwen
Black Salt (Kala Nimak)
5 pieces of lemon.

I mixed all the aforesaid items proportionately and serve them after food.
Also I use a herbal Liver tonic everyday once in the early morning with
drinking water, which enhances the function of their main digestive organs.
Other than these, I give them cabbage leaves and spinach after pesting
properly with wheat and make breads of it in winter with other herbal stuff
to enhance their power.

I also prepare an oil of one celled Garlic and preserve it for winter and
rainy season when the Young birds are mostly suffered from cough & cold,
one-eyed cold(caused by a bacteria), Cocci etc. This oil prevent these
diseases and give relief to them as the sulphur contents in garlic is very
much essential to make a defense against the germs. The items are given
below:

One celled Garlic.............................250 gms.
Mustard oil or linseed oil,...................100 gms.
Small Elaichi(Cardamom)........................05 gms.
Clove..........................................05 gms.
Cinamon........................................05 gms.
Ginger.........................................10 gms.

Paste the above items in a Mixi machine properly and mix it with the mustard
oil nicely. Keep the entire mixture in oil for at least 7 days and then
filter it. Preserve the extracted oil in a glass container for future use.
Please don't boil the oil otherwise the effect of Allicin (Sulphur compound
will be destroyed).

Hope all these information will satisfy you. Even that, if you need any
clarification, please write to me.
