Hi Neen it gets even more interesting when unknown facts are properly
presented ;) I am really glad you helped me with opportunity to clear
color confusion which is in my opinion not surprising as many guys on FT
including myself do not know mach about color genetics. Must emphasize again
that colors can be deceiving in many differen ways specially if some one is
considering the color gene as an attribute or a part that constitutes the
Tippler strain.

I know that some wonder how is it possible that almost all of Shannon birds
today are light color birds while the birds that were imported from the same
genetic pool 16 years ago to Canada never produced same colors. Simple
answer to that is that powerful influence of dominant dirty genes expression
exists in imported birds while in Shannon birds for about 6 years there is
a lack of the same genes. By the way color gene as you know has no
influence on athletic performance of birds in any way.

The imports we got in 1995 were loaded with dominant dirty genes , the color
which I love. These genes inhibit white color genes. In order to bring out
badge genes dirty color gene had to be eliminated and that is exactly what
Harry did 6 years ago to get white color from his own birds. We in here
continued to breed imported birds with present of dominant dirty gene color
together and no wonder that we never got the same color Harry's birds have
today.

I hope that the knowledge of dirty gene influence in our birds will brings
some light to the ''mystery'' of different color we get from the birds that
share the same genetic pool.

My birds could produce badges in a very short period of time if I
concentrate on it as Harry did by selecting and breeding birds that don't
carry dirty gene which can be easy recognized on the chic in the nest.

We do have a lot of grizzles mostly with dirty genes showing . On many
occasion I had white flights but I did not keep them. This summer I gave to
Tom one beautiful silver white flights cock

Nino, I appreciate your reply and interest in this subject.
