However, let us not forget, in anything we do, there always is possible an
element of surprise, considering the fact not everything we see is dominant.

Sure keeping of the proper documentation will be helpful, but let us not
forget a lot depends on the honesty of those who provided us with the
pedigreed base that we work from.

Are the throwbacks possible ? Sure, but with a good selective breeding,
paying attention and holding on to the positives, while at the same time
eliminating the negative, even though we like their visual appearance, then
the throwbacks would be almost nonexistent. At the same time, we should
keep in mind that what we are dealing with is a recessive trait, so if or
when we get a bird tail riding, the trait is coming from both sides, that
being the case, we now have two birds (indentified as carriers of fault)
.Here we have few choices; Eliminate both of them (best choice) split them
up, or use them in individual breeding with other mates from within the
line, if for no other reason than to find out if the fault (recessive gene)
is present in some more birds.

After going through the process, and no bird is showing the fault, it tell
us of recessives on one side only. At this point the two offenders and ALL
the offspring are eliminated, even though they showed no fault, but might be
impure for it.
