Hi Raja,
it must be much colder in Calgary than over here. The lowest winter temps we
get is 20 - 25 below. Still some of my birds used to rear youngsters in
temps like that. Natural selection, I guess. Good parents, strong
youngsters, if they all can survive. What else can we ask from birds that
should endure? Well, perhaps getting smartly out of the harms way when the
hawk strikes.
I ran out of rings for this year already so all quiet on this winter
breeding front of mine, hehehe.
Last year (2010) I had these little snug-as-the-bugs in January.
