Hi Neen Luka as always an interesting topic Neen is perfectly right in/line
breeding in the right hands is a tool to increase the genetic purity of any
living thing and give a better chance of fixing traits the secret of using
it correctly is to know which traits to look for and how to fix them with
tipplers the traits should be flying ability first and to do this the birds
must be tested in the air with a tried and tested family you might get away
with breeding from untested breeders for a short while but over time the
quality will diminish if you are not testing to make sure you still have
what you are breeding for yes we can all get away with keeping the odd
untested breeder from time to time but not generation after generation
anyone flying tipplers will know pedigree is no guarantee that you will
breed good flyers the only guarantee you have is to get them in the air and
test them so you know which birds are carrying the flying traits you are
breeding for i have never met anyone who could pick a great flyer or breeder
from a perch Luka i would say look at any tippler in the air regardless of
strain size color or markings they are unmistakable from any other breed in
the air i have a number of homing lofts behind me and sometimes one of my
tipplers will be swept up by a flock of homers i can easily pick it out at a
glance Davey
