The stock birds are placed in separate rooms throughout the winter months
cocks in one room and hens in another so they can't see each other to pair
off with each other. They are rested to fully moult out before being placed
together for pairing around mid February. On good days you can give them a
bath if they have access to an avairy, they are fed on the necessary food to
help them moult out but not to have them too fat for pairing, all the
preparation i.e. injections for paramyxo, treatments for canker cocci and
worms can be done so that the birds are clear of any ailments and ready to
be paired, its personal preference on when to do it or which treatments to
use

It's the same with the flyers apart from once they are fully moulted out,
I place them on depurative to keep the weight off , getting ready to start
them off after the new year when the weather is right.
