I first seen this strain in the north east in the 70s Cyril Miles from the
West Mercia Club brought them up for old man Barker to fly, he was a oap,
and wanted some tips to pass the time away, Cyril said the birds were very
easy to settle and could fly the clock around no problem, Old man Barker
bred 4 young birds and flow in the Tyneside club with them, he flew them
14hours 05 mins best time, the birds where 2black pied, 1blue pied, 1 dun
pied ,the birds had quality feathering and all the premier flights were
white, with a bald white head, the flying stile was to fly very low all day
and rake away the same area all day very reliable birds you never lost
sight of them, George was always being broken in to and after 2 or 3 times
he give the birds to Old Roy Beatty and Malcolm Grey I still think the birds
are around the Sunderland area today, but alas George, Roy, and Malcolm are
all passed on, Hope this is some help, Cyril Miles was one of the master
flyers of the 70s and it was very kind of him to spare the time to bring
them up for old George, What happened to Cyril? is he still flying, I know
his birds are, top quality birds ,Hope this is some help.

In reference to:

Fred Tranter was from London there were a few of his birds around in
Sunderland many years ago came from a guy named Barker an early member of
the Tyneside tippler club. They were blue and black badges Barney may be
able to tell you a little more about them.
